All weed eaters basically have the same design, but come with a variety of power sources. Not only that, but they also come in different power ranges, sizes and prices.

Weed eaters can be electric, battery powered, or powered with gas or a gas/oil mixture. The string is the most important thing to maintain on your weed eater.

Reloading a weed eater is not too difficult. All you have to do is buy a new spool of the plastic line, and then carefully remove the old one. Then you pull out a bit of the new spool so it sticks out past the opening (about two inches will do) and snap the new spool in.
